Found some homeopathic medicine that works, also need advice of adderall detox

I decided to stop taking adderall, I weaned off it slowly, but I am still getting headaches everyday. I've been off 4 days now. Anyone know how long the heachaches will last? I stopped because I kept getting even more forgetful than I am already. When having conversations I was always forgetting what I was saying. I was also getting irritable.

Anyway, here is way I decided to switch to and it's been helping. I have been taking ginko biloba for a couple of weeks now I feel it is now kicking in, that one doesn't work instantly. Also since I deal with impulsiveness and hyperactivity I started taking skullcap (the american one). I also suffer from migraines and that is why I first started researching it. I noticed it helps me slow down and relax. It says to take 2 a day, but I take 1 and than take a second if I need it. It does help with the headaches some as well.

Also there are no side effects. There is no research on using skullcap long term so be careful on trying to use it long term.

I also have been taking flax seed oil 1200mg. for some time.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Candice - Just because you don't NOTICE any side effects, it doesn't mean there aren't any. I'm a skeptic of non-traditional ADHD therapies simply because they aren't regulated and you really don't know what you're getting. Could be sugar or some other ineffective substance in those capsules and you'd never know.

I take flax seed for my cholesterol. Just by taking that, I lowered my cholesterol by 14 points in like just a few months. It was amazing.

There could be any number of reasons why you are experiencing headaches. Chances are it's not because of the Adderall but something else. Stimulants are gone from the body within a short time (whether or not they're extended release or immediate release).

It might be beneficial to check with your doctor about the headaches. You say you suffer migraines. Could be that the lingering headaches are stemming from a migraine.

Hi Candice, I believe alternative all natural medications are wonderful if it works for you. I offend times do not have the patience to wait a month or so for it to kick in. I do admire people who research these meds and pursue all natural alternative. I frequently visit my health food store, there is an RN who keeps herself informed on all natural meds. I think it is good to let your doc know what natural meds you are taking. The problem is they offend do not have a clue as to what to tell you because I have found they don't know alot about it. Have a good Thanksgiving and I am glad you are feeling better. Keep us informed.

The headaches stopped today, so about 5 days worth once I went off the adderall. As for the ginko it took about 2 weeks to kick in. The skullcap worked instantly and continues to work better the more I use it. I woke up hyper today and it slowed me down after about 45-1 hr after taking the pill. I noticed I also do not have the irritability I was dealing with.

My dr seems to know what I am talking about when I mention some herbal meds. She's a DO so they are more whole body orientated that regular dr's so they are more open to other ideas. My regular dr didn't give me the adderall, a psychiatrist did. She made a face when I mentioned I was on it and concluding that was where a lot of my symptoms were coming from.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Seems like you are on the right track and you have a doc that is right for you. That is a lot to be thankful for. I am glad things are going well for you. It is nice to hear good reports. By for now.
