Permalink Reply by omgaddandocd on March 25, 2010 at 12:27pm lol I saw your subject and had to come see your post. I have felt the same way recently! I have a lot of "visual clutter" today - the kitchen, bedroom, and office are a mess! (Did I mention I should actually be working productively right now? Ha!) I took some blank paper to a coffee shop and made a schedule for my day. E.g. from 9-10 I would clean the kitchen for 15 minutes, fold laundry for 15 minutes, and clean the kitchen again for 15 minutes. (I decided it doesn't matter WHAT I get done as long as I do something I think needs done.) Having a set amount of time to do it helps because then I don't get so focused that I can't do anything else. (Sometimes I do set the timer for 5 more minutes so I can "finish up" but then I can move on.) You can do this for whatever needs to be done.
One website that has helped me is flylady.net. She explains the timer concept much better.
And now ... off to the kitchen for my snack and to clean up in there for another 15.
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!
Sometimes I feel like renting a dumpster and getting rid of 90% of the stuff in my house!
Oh! I forgot to mention I have a business that I do from home... Making craft type things and party planning. I have craft supplies EVERYWHERE!
Hobby Lobby calls me when they are low on inventory.

Permalink Reply by omgaddandocd on March 26, 2010 at 1:36pm The internet is my Achilles heel, too! I should be cleaning up the lunch dishes yet here I am, in front of the computer, again. :-) I could use a butt-kicking sometimes, too. I'm getting better though. I can keep my kitchen reasonably clean, but then I don't have much choice as we have a mouse problem (there's modivation, then there's modivation!) And I think it makes it easier that I don't have a job outside the home. I have a pretty good understanding of my limitations. Having to make a living and take care of the house AND be a mother to two little ones would be just too much for me to handle right now. Jeez, now who's rambling?! :-)

I really appreciate y'all taking the time to reply! It helps A LOT!
