Women With ADHD ADD

For Women with ADHD ADD Who Want to Connect

Do you find that because of your ADHD certain things bug or bother you more? I have some pet peeves that just drive me crazy!

Not being able to find my glasses (reading or sunglasses)
Slow drivers in any lane (i'm from the midwest where everyone's a leadfoot)
-People(friends) who say they'll call and then don't
-Poor grammer/spelling. I know some people can't help it but if I can't read it, I won't read it.
-commercials that are over-played a bazillion times that I want to puke!
-Bosses and supervisors who think they're better than you just because of their position
-Same goes for co-workers
-Being on eternal hold or never getting that "live" person
-My daughter's messes (I can barely handle my own!)
-Computers, printers, etc., when they don't work right and I can't figure it out
-Dirty toilets
-Waiting for people so we can go somewhere or do something. Rather than being late, I am chronically early!
-Getting behind that slowpoke at the store when I am in a hurry.
-Neighbors who don't know what 10pm means
-When I'm cooking and run out of an essential ingredient then I have to go to the store
-Skinny women at the gym who are vain in flaunting it (and these women are over age 35)
-Having a disagreement with a friend when I know I'm right about something
-Dealing with insurance companies (yes, all insurance companies)
-Getting ripped off from a mechanic or not getting what I paid for
-yes, nails on a chalkboard
-noisy children or pets (and yes I had both)
-people who are fake with their sincerity or compassion
-crowded places (just one reason why I moved from Chicago to Portland)
-narrowminded people like my siblings
-excuses
-whining by adults
-negativity
-dirty dishes laying around the house (same goes for used tissue)
-telemarketers at work or being faxed (i'm a receptionist and answer the phone enough without those!)
-clothing that is too tight
-people who don't send thank you's. (i sent gifts last christmas and not one thank you or return gift. they won't be getting them this year. can't afford it)
-men who think they're being gentlemanly but are just being chauvinistic
-people who talk "down" to me
-bad tv shows
-musicians who think they're talented. what's up with the guitar banging and "growling"?
-people who call your number and say "I just missed a call from this number" and they think you know who called them.

I'm sure I could think of more but my daughter pulled my line, "I'll be waiting in the car!" For once, she's on time!

Have a great day ladies!

All of these things piss me off, but is that the ADHD or just being human?

I think it's being human but the ADHD makes them so much more apparent and less tolerable.

Then I am WWWWAAAAYYYY human! I am the most annoyed person in the world. Just my own breathing drives me insane and I am medicated! Some days I don't know how I survive my own self! lol I get annoyed at people that I annoy, I get annoyed that I am annoyed at people that are annoyed at me. I don't think there is anything I can do except become blind and deaf. Then I am sure I would be annoyed at that. I am to the point where my kids are asking me if I took my meds that day which annoys the hell out of me. My ADD sucks on most days but on the other hand it is what makes me me and I have lots of friends, great kids, a good boyfriend and great family. What more could an annoyed person want? Have a great 4th weekend everyone! Lori

omg people that make noises when they eat get on my LAST nerve! i hate slow drivers too, once i came to the conclusion that all the slow ppl should all move to their own towns and be late together ( i do run late, but i speed everywhere i go, i rush around....and slow people cramp that for me making it stress purely) i dislike also when people chronically spell things wrong i can understand here and there becauase we are human but yes that is very annoying to me also, omg i felt like such a b**** because all these things superly bother me and people used to look at me like jeeze take a chill pill why are you so angry about something so little etc...but these things push me over the edge every time they happen. i hate being ignored and i hate waiting for my turn. those are just afew things that bug me, but theres more im sure. especially the toilet seat not being put back down after the men decide to pee all over the place. oh and mirrors, i cannot stand smudges etc well i guess thats for all glass lol

Are you sure we're not twins? I thought I was the only bothered by the sounds when people eat. I have to get up and move to another room sometimes when we're eating because otherwise I'm going to snap. My hubby thinks I'm nuts. And the slow drivers - when I'm in a hurry to get somewhere - I swear every single slow person is to be found on the route that I have to take. And I have trouble with chronic misspellers, too. Proofreading is part of my job and I tend to notice all the typos in peoples writing. And how much trouble is it to put the lid down on the toilet when you're done? I don't get it.....!!!

I really think we are twins that were separated at birth or something...lol.

YUP--GRAmmar and spelling...misspelling a word in a rant on misspellings is pretty funny!

Oh, I am with you on people making eating sounds. It doesn't piss me off as much as makes me want to throw up. My dh and I went out to dinner this weekend and I SWEAR I thought I was going to have to switch tables because this couple next to us kept LICKING THEIR FINGERS!!! Not just that, I could have just not looked if that was all, but they were making those nasty smacking sounds as they pulled their nasty fingers out of their mouths and it was SO loud I could hear it across the aisle!!!

My problem with kids at school is when I am trying to do something and they come up and tap me until I look at them. I have had to hold back from pushing them away from me because the sensory overload is so intense! I do rather loudly tell them to STOP, and I don't feel bad about that, because it is a rude habit anyway.
