Women With ADHD ADD

For Women with ADHD ADD Who Want to Connect

I belong to another ADHD website and one member wanted to bring attention to the positive aspects of her son's condition.  I thought it might be fun to see what positive things we all have (we already spend way too much time focusing on the negatives).

I am:

creative - love to write
spontaneous - will engage in an activity at the drop of a hat
eager, enthusiastic and energetic - especially about new or challenging things
sensitive
compassionate
friendly
proud of my organizational system of papers (it's the one thing I've been about to overcome)
interested in a wide variety of things (photography, crafting, gardening, traveling, snowshoeing, biking, hiking, camping and a whole bunch more!)

I am not:
boring
stuffy
narrow-minded
stupid
lazy
mundane
rude
selfish

(I find these traits in many people who would not be classified as ADHD and I'm so glad I'm not one of THEM!)

What are the good things that ADHD has given you?

I am also creative.
I always find better and faster ways of getting things done.
I have self taught myself (uh sounds weird) to knit, play guitar, and do just about anything on a computer.
I am good at fixing things.
I made up a budget and have made it work for the last 3 years. During that time we have paid off probably in the tens of thousands range of debt. Only 2 things left, a truck and my student loans.

I make lessons for my students FUN by acting theatrical and doing things they would not expect (like running across the room or squealing when I am pretending to be a rushed mom in the morning-lesson about important things being left in book bag)

I just got done dancing around the living room with my daughter, so I guess I am a fun spontaneous mom. Some nights we turn music on and just dance around when we should be getting baths, lol.
