my son is having issues at school with adhd he is in fifth grade. So far he went from an A and B  student last year.To a  D and F student this year. My son says the teacher doesnt give him enough time to complete assnmets and is on his but every day. I have wriitten the letter to get him evaluated he has already been diagnosed with ADHD in the first grade. I do think he may have co existing issues. The teacher knows this and is not being very helpful.Ifeel he is ignoring the fact and singling him out in class alot.

Last Friday the teacher called and said he would like to keep Frankie for an hour to finish up things that are late and he is behind on.I agreed that would be Ok. When I  got   there to pick him up the teacher told me Maybe keeping him after would motivate him to get assighnments done. He keeps saying Frankie choses not to complete stuff in time. I told hime He has always struggled with keeping up on assnments. I dont feel He is chosing not to do it it is just difficult for him to do so. He was very Patronising ans condecending in his disscusion with me. He was also puting my kid on  the spot and I felt he was punishing him. After we walkied out My son broke down crying and said he was put in a small room they call the detention room. Was not aloud  even to get a drink or use the bathroom.Isnt Their laws agaist punishing a kid like this that has a learning disability. His Behavior in school is not in Question. So why is he being punished like this? If Any one has Ideas on how I should go about dealing with this kind of thing  please  write back need help.
