So this is how bad I am, right.  First of all, I forget all about this page.  Then I attempted to log in with about 5 or 6 email accounts before I realized that I had to log in with an account that I forgot that I even had.  Feeling really ADD lately and that's what made me remember to check in.  **sigh**

Hello there

Saw this site some time ago I swear I left a message well if I did I don't remember the alias ...ha.

I am in the UK 28 with combined type ADHD, diagnosed approx 2 and bit years now just starting some CBT strategy work but the woman is really pathetic, not disrespect but she to me is some dippy blond with a degree using me as a guinea pig.  Can you believe over here they are calling this a new break through...WOW!!! I have been waiting over a year for some  face time the pills alone do not work and even moreso when the GP's here keep changing their mind about whether they feel comfortable about prescribing they make me sick.

(deep breath)..anyhoo how'e everyone else?  LOL ...

Checking in--It was a great idea to start this group, L.A.!  Thank you much.  I just locked my keys in my trunk for the first time in my life last week, and I can finally laugh about it! I'm having a very ADHD year, but I'm making it thru :o)

Would like to hear from other sistahs about how things are going.

Are you laughing? Crying? Having a great year so far? Lets all check in!   Jae

46 members.  We are not alone.  We just needed a common place to find each other.

I am always on the go. Like last week I was up early with my 3 yo son who would not go back to bed. And that he wanted to rearrange his room at 5 am, which I did when I was half asleep and stumping my toe into his dresser. And one morning this week I had to move one of the couches so he would not put his toy cars into the heater. And I moved the couch when I was half asleep. I got so much stuff on my mind it just keep going and going. ADD/ADHD is on both sides of the family. Not only on my side but on my husbands side he has a younger brother who is ADHD. But not sure if both of our kids is ADD or ADHD or it minght be only one of them who might be.

Hi, I am new to this group. I have been ADHD all my life did not know til last year I found out then just recently I had to ask my parents how long they knew and they said from since high school and they said they thought I knew about that. Like how would I know that  back then. Well anyways I am Shellina. I am 31 yo. A mom of 2 kids and been married for 7 yrs. I like to know if moodiness like mood swings is part of being ADHD? I will tell you more about me so you will have an idea about my symptoms and you might say hey that sounds like me. I am disorganized. I put stuff off all the time. I have trouble in staying focused and paying attention to anything. I speak without thinking and then it is too late. I would be in a conversation with someone then my mind drifts off to something else or somewhere else. I am a sensitive person. I can be forgetful at most stuff that is supposed to be important. I can't work cause I get stressed out. I have trouble making friends. I do have friends but they think I am weird and don't get me. I got more online friends like from FB. I got a few good friends on there. I always remember stuff at last minute. I got low self esteem. I got my bad days and good days just like everyone does. And very impulsive. I can't get a monthly bill cellphone cause I got bad credit and I don't carry credit cards except for a prepaid mastercard. I can never manage money at all. I was in college taking a course in hairstyling but had to quit back in April due to being way behind in school payments and my husband and I have been in a financial problems for awhile. I fidget alot. Can't sit still. I get nervous around some people. I don't mind being this way. I might remember some other stuff and come back on here tell you more about me. Oh yes, my brother is also ADD. Looking back on my life now I understand why I did and acted the way I did back when I was in my teen years and in my early 20's. I read alot about ADD/ADHD. I thought I was ADD til I found out that I am ADHD, which is interesting.

It's been months since I've logged on.  Just checkin' in to see any new activity, and wow -- 41 members.  Okay, that doesn't sound like a lot.  But before I started the group it was difficult finding anything online about black women & adhd.  So to know that 40 women found this group is exciting.  I hope all is well with you.

Peace & Blessings to all of my beautiful sistas!  I've been all over the place --- surprise!  Not really.  I'll be logging on later today to respond to the posts that I've missed & to greet the newest members of our group that I haven't connected with yet.  I just wanted to drop in & say hello to all!
