I am a Creative Writer. I have an idea for an ADHD Dating website, but I don't have the money and I need help with this idea.

Hi all,
I'm a copywriter and would-be internet marketer. I'm looking for an accountability buddy.

I'd love to connect five days a week, state goals, go over strategy and bumps, encourage and cheerlead.

I'm really committed to this and would love to connect to someone who is at that point too.

I know myself that sometimes I'm just sort of committed to something--it sounds like something I should do, not something I'm absolutely going to do. That's just part of life and perfectly ok.

I'm beyond that point in my business, chomping at the bit and really working. Knowing my ADD self, I sure I'll be more consistent and clear with an accountability buddy, one who's also at the stage of fully committed/charged up.

If anyone would like to buddy up, I'd love it! I think I'm a pretty good listener and cheerleader. I'd be committed to your success as well as mine.

Hi. I have been in high-end sales / target marketing for 15+ years. I am no employed (recent). I understand what is REALLY happening to our beloved country. We're on
the verge of .... a whole new way of living. We have not
yet experienced the real financial collapse. It's terrifying.

Having stated my opinion regarding the road ahead, I am am
I am optimistic about the many business opportunities that are emerging all around us. Daily. The world is changing so fast. Too fast for our human brains to comprehend (especially ADHD'ers! Ha!!) ...even a little bit. iPhones and now iPad's? I love them! I hate them! To truly utilize the GLOBAL networking capabilities that these devices offer is essential in
this NEW eCommerce world that changes by the hour and moves at the speed of light.
To utilize and harness the unbelievable power that we now have, we must first understand what the tool (iPad) is, and learn how to use it. Wifi-blutooth-3G/4G-GPS-Facebook-Twitter-Blogging-Vlogging-tagging. Google AdWords-AdSense-Statistic info on what's being searched for at this second on the world. Or in the USA or in your state your town even down to what is being "Googled" within a square mile of our homes! Minute by minute!
So many possibilities for new business start ups! Now, more than ever! Obama is begging people to take the governments money and start a small business! Our market is the entire globe!

Where to go from here? LOL

Yes, the dreaded business end of things, but I absolutely want to take those classes as I will need to know how to do all that. But I figure, classes are what you do to learn stuff you don't know. The beauty of it is if you have a good professor, when the classes are done you remember what you learned there and then can apply it in your life. I would love to be able to have someone else do all that, but with no $$ it's not a possibility right now. I assume I probably need prequsite math, before I can take said business classes. The denial that I have to take math classes, is what is keeping me in school at the moment. I am sure in time I'll warm up to the idea, and actually take the placement class to find out I need dumb dumb math before they let me take the ones that actuallly count. That and I have to learn another language, I'll probably take French. Only cause I would love to spend more time there, and paint maybe for a few months some year in the future.

Also, consider writing up a business plan, which you include your marketing strategies, business structure, budget, etc. That is why I stress taking a good business class. Business plans aren't etched in stone. You can modify them as you go along after seeing what works and what doesn't work.

I'll try to find my books on how to write up a business plan. I remember way back when I decided to open up a quilting shop. I had to go to the bank to ask for start up money and that was the first thing they asked for was a business plan. I remember when I did it, it felt like I was pulling stuff out of the air, esp. when it came to projected income and stuff like that.

***Sorry for the misspelled words, my speck check seems to be on the frits.

PS. Jennifer:

Could you share with us your Artist's Statement and/or Bio?

It would probably be helpful some others who really don't know what belongs in an Artist Statement.

And, I don't thing it would none if you had other people read it case you forgot something or need to enhance on something.

Jennifer: It sounds like you have a good start by having your Artist's Statement, Bio & Business cards done. Kudo's.

May I suggest that while you are in school, take as many business classes as you can, even a class in salesmanship.

While I was attending the University, I took a Small Business class, which taught things such as marketing, bookkeeping, etc. I know these are all things that us artistically ADD'ers hate doing or try to avoid. It is left-brain stuff and we tend to be more right-brain. However, if your work is good enough you may start out by hiring an agent or art representative.

Yes, I know that cost money but it may well be worth it if these are the things you fear the most. By allowing someone else to do that work, you will have more thing to do what you love the most -- your artwork.

Hi, For the past year and a half, I have been trying to start my own business as an artist. I do oil paintings mostly, some encaustics. I have decided to go back to school as an adult full time. Unfortunately, it takes up so much of my time, I have not done anything for my business lately. But I guess that is part of the reason I am going back to school, for formal art training, and to learn how to do the business stuff. Today is my 1st day of Winter Break. I think this is a great idea. So far I have about 4 series of paintings, 2 are still incomplete however. I have written my Artists Statement, Bio, and designed my business cards. I also bought my web address, but have not had time to learn how to build the website yet. I think I would like to get that up and running next, finish the 2 collections that are incomplete, and figure out what else is next on my list of things to do. After I get all those ducks in a row, then I have to decide wether I am ready to actually ready to sell my work, or would it behove me to enter art competitions, and try to get some art hung in some of the local resturants, wine bars, etc... for exposures sake, and for something to put on my CV.???? Lots of big questions. I am a bit nervous of selling my work as it is also my portfolio. I figure if I take things slow and plod away at all these tasks as I can, eventually I will be in a position to sell them and for possibly more money. My plan is, when I graduate I want to start an Artists Co-op,

Art Center, or possibly an Artists Retreat. But that is a long way off, I am just finished my 1st semester at community college and am considering switching my AAA degree to a AA & transfere to University for a BFA. I am awaiting good advising from a career councelor, and if you have any advise I am always appreciative.Oh I should say the CC accepted all my credits from my old CC from like 10 years ago. So I actually should now have 36 total credits completed. What a welcome surprise. Away, thanks for posting such a brilliant idea, I was actually looking for just the thing I was just shy

or perhaps insecure to start it up myself. I really need to work on that!!! Anyway I hope to hear from you :) .
