Hi folks. I'm in Jacksonville, NC. I can't tell you for sure when I was diagnosed - I know I was tested in college and the results were "highly suggestive of AD/HD." That was back in 1994-5 or so. I didn't do anything else about it until 2001 though. I joined the Army after college and had the structure I needed to keep me going, so there was no need. But by '01 I was out, married to a fellow soldier, and had a new baby. I started meds then and have been on them for the most part ever since. I also have a few other things going on with me like fibromyalgia, so it can be rough to feel hyper but hurting to move. Anyway, I've got a Master's in counseling psychology but I'm saving up to go through ADHD coaching school so I can transition into doing that. I love our creativity and all our strengths...we just are wired differently than others, and I want to help people find and capitalize on their strengths. :)

Hey you all,I'm not originally from the Carolinas (born and raised in Germany) but I live in Greenville SC now.Maybe I can finally meet some people on her who are actually close to where I live.I would love to make some friends,especially people who can understand me and wont judge me for being well...me + some of the ADHD ;)

I know there is like a support group from CHADD once a month but I think it's mainly for parents/children with ADHD and less for Adults.Does anyone know if there are other groups for adults with ADHD around the Upstate area?

Hello all I am from right outside Fayettville NC and I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child but my mother didn't tell me! Haha so all these year I have hated myself because I felt differnt and could not make friends, all comes down to four letters ADHD. Nice to meet ya'll!

Hi, I was diagnosed a few months ago..but like others said I think I've had it all my life. I've been taking Strattera now and had to up my dose, so far so good. My doc also told me of CHADD but not sure how many take insurance. I would also like to find a support group in the area or maybe we could all have our own meet up group!

Hey! I was diagnosed in 2006 finally but think that I've had it all my life. I take Vyvanse and it seems to be working. It is my third med. I just moved here to NC in the beginning of April and am very nervous. So far I have done nothing but sit around the house and try to play video games with my hubby whom is physically disabled and hang with my 2dogs and Bunny. Would love to know that I'm not the only girl that feels this way!

Hey! So glad to see someone in NC on here! I was diagnosed just a couple of weeks ago and I'm on my second trial med. I'm really interested in finding a local support group/network and ADHD Coaches. I've found one support group or source and that's the local CHADD group. Are there support groups or coaches in your area? How long have you been diagnosed? How is everything going with you?
