Hi Gillian (and others in support groups).  What pointers can you give me for setting up a support group, running it and publicising it?  What pitfalls have you, do you run into?

Hi, the support group in Central Scotland is well attended and members of it have also set up a charity called Addressing the Balance which has presented a petition to the Scottish Parliament, aiming to get a diagnosis and treatment pathway set up for adults in Scotland. The NICE guidelines don't hold here, of course.

Addressing the Balance

Social meetings are the first Thursday of every month in Espresso Mondo, Lothian Road, Edinburgh, and there are often 12 or 15 people there.

Might give you some ideas of what you can do in Guildford.

I find the organisation, ADDISS very helpful and there is a strong support group in East Grinstead.  There is an ADDISS conference on November 4th in London that looks very good indeed.  www.addiss.co.uk

Hi to you all.  I'm near Guildford, in my 60s, diagnosed mid 50's.  I'm interested in ADD and retirement and in forming support groups in my area.  There seems to be precious little help for mums, teens, uni students, adults in our area.  Anyone know of any resources we could plug into?

Hi, there's an ADHD support group in central Scotland, if anyone in this group is interested. It meets in various places - Falkirk, Edinburgh, Glasgow - about once a month. Let me know if you're interested. Best, Gillian
