What A Difference True Understanding Is

When I was diagnosed 4 years ago at 34, I got a lot of support from family, friends and my employer.  What I realized tonight is that is VERY different than True Understanding.My husband, who I am separating from at the end of the month (together 16 years, married 10) was supportive when my eldest daughter (9 when diagnosed, 13 now) and I were diagnosed Inattentive ADHD. My 13 year old is Inattentive ADHD, the 9 year old is full blown ADHD with the hyperactivity.  I had a meeting last Friday (April 5th) with my eldest's counselor and 2 of her teachers.  It was determined that she does not require an IEP, but her teachers and counselor are very willing to work with her.So I knew I had to talk to her about learning skills and changing behaviors. We need a "Work" forum! LOLSo kicking butt on this new job. New boss is thrilled with me. I'm learning new stuff so I can switch my focus throughout the day. Trouble is we are an understaffed department. We've had "standing overtime" since November of 2011. So when traffic cooperates and manage to get to work early, I just punch in and start.Finishing my 3rd week and I'm starting to feel a little fried. Supportive New Coworker Story! Wait, What?!?!

Getting Ready To Move

I am so frustrated.  I need to be all ready to move out of my house by May. Getting Better?

Ok. So, back on the generic Adderall, 10mg 2x a day to start. I know it will go up, but giving my body a chance to get used to it. I hate the start of it, beginning again. The headaches, tension in my body, the hard time sleeping... But I know it will be worth it. Started Ari Tuckman's "More Attention, Less Deficit" and looking for my coaching stuff from when I was originally diagnosed. It's like I have to re-learn about myself all over again. Away away away...

So I have been away for years.  I mean years, which is rather sad and really, I have no excuses. Recently I have gone through the worst pancreatitis attack I have ever gone through with 4 months of healing. (No, I don't drink at all).  While recovering I had to go off all ADHD meds since they were messing with my stomach.  Stratera caused horrible cramping during my periods, and Adderall and Ritilan caused my stomach to hurt.  During this time we discovered my 9 year old daughter is ADHD…See More
