I just finished reading "Odd One Out: The Maverick's Guide To Adult ADD" by Jennifer Koretsky. I have to say it wasA really good basic book for anyone with ADHD. It's very straight forward and…Continue
How many know what your learning modality is? I heard about it in an ADHD and tried to figure mine out. I took a quiz online I found out I am kinesthetic and aural mostly. I believe that to be…Continue
Has or does anyone use this program? A lot of 'people' make it out to be some magical electronic storage program that will help you remember and organized everything in your life. Overall, I don't…Continue
Is there anyone on here that has gone to an ADHD coach before? I'm really thinking that I'd like to try one but not real sure how to go about getting involved with one. I've read (online) and heard (on podcasts) coaches give out their numbers and say just call for a consultation. A lot of them say they do 'phone' coaching instead of in-person too. I will admit that I am not fond of talking on the phone for various reasons though so that makes me feel intimidated. Not to mention I do not…See More
I would highly recommend anyone want fast, free information on ADHD to look into these. I listen to them on my iPhone at work (probably a catch-22) which helps me get through the day. I listen to them through iTunes but you can also get them at blocktalkradio. My favorites include the list's owner Tara McGillicuddy, Practical ADHD Strategies Radio Show, Ari Tuckman's More Attention, Less Deficit: Success Strategies for Adults with ADHD, ADHD Experts from ADDitude magazine, and my last find…See More
So I'm trying to be more on the ball on time management with a daily planner. I have recently discovered that if I 'make' it myself or my own it's better. I think I've learned that a lot too listening to ADD blogs (a whole other story ;-). Anyway, I'm at Target on this item pops out at me. It's a 'mini' binder. It's not your normal regular sized 8 1/2 by 11 big binder, it's a tiny one that's 5 1/2 by 8 1/2. One that will fit in a bag or maybe even a large purse. And truth be told it's…See More
So I'm not 'real' sure what's going on with me right now. I've been taking Adderall for about six months yet the last couple of weeks it seems as if it has been as affective. I go to the doctor on Monday so I'll talk to her about what's going on.I was just diagnosed very last part of 2012 and then put on Adderall. The first dose I took, it was like a light switched had turned on and I could focus. I was really busy since that time moving and different things. Now we've been in our new…See More
Is it just me or having ADD in today's society hard? Our world is way too fast paced and we have way too many choices to choose from. I get pretty overwhelmed at times. I am working on getting better tools to deal with things though. Hoping things settle down. Then again, once they do something else will come up to deal with. I guess that's just life though.
