WooHoo! Had to pay a little to the state, but I'm getting a nice refund from the Feds - $200 more than last year.Now I just need to find one place to spend it all. LOLSee More

So I was downtown this afternoon, walking to my shrink appointment, and the people in front of me were walking SO SLOW. I didn't see any cars coming so I stepped out into the street to pass them. I thought I heard something behind me that sounded like a big truck, and I got back on the sidewalk just as a big truck drove by right where I had been walking! Do I go for a promotion or not?

So I have a week to decide if I want to go for a promotion at work or not. Besides the obvious question of whether or not I want to take on more responsibility, my biggest concern is over the hours and the commute. I'd be working the same number of hours, but the new job starts earlier and has a longer commute. Now my drive is about 20 minutes each way - the new job would be at least an hour each way by public transit - bus and subway/train. I'd have to get up at least 2 hours earlier than…See More

Tips for Getting Ready in the Morning

I am late for work almost every day. It doesn't matter how early I get up, I still get distracted and underestimate how long it takes to do things. Does anyone have any strategies that help you stay on schedule? I'll share one of mine: In the shower, I sing "The Ants Go Marching." It takes 3-4 stanzas to shampoo, rinse, and apply conditioner; 1-2 to wash my face; 3-4 to wash the rest of me, and 1 stanza to rinse. See More

How I do laundry (or what I do instead of laundry)

OK, so before I can even start writing this post, I have to set the timer to remind myself when it's time to switch over the laundry. I live in a condo that only has 2 washers & dryers so before I do anything else, I have to go and check and make sure a washer is free. They both are so I start gathering and sorting laundry - jeans in one basket, sweaters, tops, pajamas (DARN! I knew I forgot something!) in the other. Funny ADD Moment

A week or so ago, I was reading a book on ADD and one of the questions it asked was "Do you write lots of reminders for yourself on little pieces of paper?"
I said "HA! NO! I use my hand."

Then I looked at my hand and saw that I was supposed to call someone at 2 p.m. and it was now 8 p.m. and too late to call. *sigh*
