"I like the idea of making a master list for all the accounts. Right now I have two boxes going and I know I have repeat files because I didn't remember I already had put one in the other box. So today after weeding the garden, my son said he…"

"Wow, you have a lot of thread discussions going...I can tell that this really bothers you so where do I start? It bothers me as well and even when I have some spare time, the piles sit because it's difficult for me to go through them. I've…"

"Boy, that describes my situation exactly...and I haven't been diagnosed with a brain tumor...yet! I do exactly what you describe. I put the piles out, organize them, and then have to gather them up and start over again. It put a lot of strain…"

"I posted a comment in another thread to you. I can completely relate. I was DX with a brain tumor a few years ago which has been life altering. I no longer have the energy. The paper piles just keep growing. It is so overwhelming I just don't…"

"Starr - If you need to carry your stuff with you, have you thought about one of those accordian type files, with several pockets in it, so you can have a "mini-file' of the papers that you need to have with you? I have one of those, and…"

"Starr - Can you get some small baskets and label them (bills, letters, junk mail, etc.) and then sort the piles into the baskets? Once you have them in the baskets, tackle each basket. Junk mail is easy - toss. You could even do just one basket and…"

Starr A. Wilson replied to Starr A. Wilson's discussion Numbers and paper piles - what do you do to keep them organized?
"My biggest problem is message taking. And my messages are from people who want information STAT, not yesterday or tomorrow and then I can't find the messages. Plus organizing my stuff is what I'm doing now. Unfortunately, I have to plan…"

Numbers and paper piles - what do you do to keep them organized?

A really serious problem for me is dealing with numbers and organizing my paperwork. Most of the time I can't deal with it but now I'm being forced to go through and organize my paperwork for taxes, which are way overdue. In the past, it wasn't really a problem but in the last five years it's just become a real obstacle. My papers piles are on the piano, the counter spaces, the desk, everywhere and I'm trying to file organize everything and it's taking some time to do that plus get my regular…See More

"Being frustrated makes us do all kinds of self-defeating things, eating, staying in bed sleeping or watching the tv for hours on end, eating, and not doing what we need to do. Meanwhile, the clutter piles even higher and the needed work that needs…"

Well, hello:
As I said I was wondering if you would like to buddy up and try to go at what seems like a huge struggle for both of us. Sometimes having a buddy, even one on the Internet, to help give & get added support. I replied to your one post on "numbers and paper piles" because you echoed exactly how I was feeling: Where to begin, how to continue without getting lost or remembering where you left off, and actually make a dent in a common goal. All this was before I got the post about ADD Woman & Money. I see you signed up, too. I am sure we can glean all kinds of ideas & suggests, but I'd still like to buddy up with someone who would be willing to check in on each other and discuss our progress and/or vent. I am game if you are. The post I originally wrote and got lost in cyberspace, I will try to re-write. It had a couple of ideas you might want to consider. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Jo Ellen
