Jo, Never apologize for being off topic in this forum. We've all been there, done that. : ) As for breathing issues worsening with age and whether it's associated with ADHD, I've not heard of that. But...it does seem that many with ADHD seem to ha…

The Joys of Old Books and Imperfect People

Last weekend, I spent part of the holiday finally clearing out my basement of old books that had belonged to my parents when they were alive. This was a task I should have felt good about finally doing-even though it has taken me many years to accomplish!

It was Memorial Day after al… Continue

Announcement from Sari Solden

Dear Colleagues and Associates,

I am writing to you because I consider you part of my valued network of professionals who work with adults with ADD, work in the mental health field, or who have been supportive of adults with ADD either in business or in the media.

I have been working on an exciting project for a long while now, and would like to ask for your help in sharing it with people you believe may benefit. On January 1st, I "opened the doors" to my virtual ADD Community for both men an… Continue

Terry, I'm preparing a 1 hr. lunch and learn presentation for my local chapter of NASW and would like to pick your brain! I haven't narrowed down my topic yet, but want to focus on how professional social workers have created a role with the ADHD population via the internet, etc. I know you take precautions regarding wording of services provided, but I want to point out the benefits a SW background can bring as well as the rewards that working with this population bring to the social worker. If you have any thoughts, ideas or resources you could share, I'd appreciate it.

You warned a spammer - Rozanna did not sign on here because she is living with ADD or knows someone who is. She signed on here to make money. If anyone on this forum clicks on that link, Rozanna will be paid. I suggest you get rid of her now, because spam spawns more spam.

is there some way this site can stop spam -- I have enough problems without having to worry about getting some nonsense from a spammer on this page - what ever help you can give with this would be great -- I'll understand if you are not able to stop spam - but I refuse to be civil to spammers

Ah...that's hard being so far away. Where are the other kiddos?

The grandbaby is a real snugglebug, so she's great fun. Unfortunately, they're clear across the country in Georgia, but I try to get out there every 3 months or so. Life not being kind hasn't helped of late. Hopefully the new year will be better!

Kate moved to Connecticut about 3 years ago, when her partner started her residency in Norwalk, CT. Kate then decided she didn't like being a stay at home mom and got a fellowship at Yale to work on her graduate degree in Neurolinguistics! So they moved to New Haven. This last year, she decided she would settle for an MA from Yale, although she really wanted the PhD, because it was just too hard to be a Mom and a student at the same time. In the meantime her partner, Aga, has completed her residency and her exams and is working as a hospitalist at the hospital in Norwalk. In a year or so they hope to be moving back to the west coast (where they belong!)

My hope is that they'll move close enough that I can be a regular part of my granddaughter's lives. Probably it won't happen though. But at least they'll be closer.

Hi Terry, we're doing good. We live in a mountain valley in a log house on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Very cool! Ride & Tie is my husband's love... okay, I come first and maybe making music is tied, but he does love Ride & Tie and yes I have participated, although I don't a lot because I am old and don't run or ride very efficiently, although I do, do both. My kids are great! Kate and her partner are in New Haven, happy and working. The grandkids are 4 and 6 now. Terrific little girls. My oldest is a banker in L.A. out of work at the moment. And Rob, the kid you met at one of the conferences has been living in Europe for the last year and a half, teaching English, but has now returned and will be living in SF. Life is good!

Jennie and Miguel were married in May, and Reyna Elizabeth came in September. As for the llamas, I have to get some decent shots!

Hi Terry, How's things? I'm trudging along through publishing (and printing!) a 42 page Annual yearbook for the Ride and Tie Association. www.rideandtie.org. Ahhh... go ahead and look. How are your kids? How are you? I think of you now and then and miss our conversations.
