Are you still looking for someone to buddy with or have you found someone/group? I can organize anyone else's stuff and can do mine- when I can settle down to do it. (That's with meds) There is so much saying, "handle me! handle me!" The power outage was fabulous for me. A relief, like a snow day off, and felt free from electronics, people, etc. and was in the zone sorting papers. I used an l.e.d. light strapped to my forehead with a headband like a miner's hat to see at night! (since bought one that clips on a visor/hat) And then the lights come on after good progress, but four more boxes to go and a list of action items that I haven't attended to. I know tons and have (too) many resources and tools, but motivation/discipline/focus are my sticking points right now.
I'm looking for folks/someone who can get together and spend a set amount of time working on each of our places. I know it's hard to work on someone else's stuff when we feel like we have our own stuff to do, but I'm convinced the synergy of working as a team at least on most things helps it all get done sooner than if we did it on our own. Plus it is cheaper and takes less time than trying to hire some help. And I, too, am a "strict" one. I like to get in there and see some progress!
I live in Rockville at 495/355, which isn't exactly close, but I waste many times the travel time a day! If you (or other members of this forum) or someone you know might be interested, please let me know.
Hope you're having a productive and fun summer!
Katie said… Hi Bambi, At least we mean well and want to get stuff done. I just deleted solitaire on my computer so that should give me 2 and half hours a day back. When I get a lot of work done it means that I am avoiding something that I do not want to do. It is taking me 5 years to get the stairs carpeted because we have to get the bathroom done upstairs. At least your getting the work done. Make sure you tell the workers if you don't like what they did or you will be looking at it for years. Good Luck
Katie said… Hi Bambi, I thought that your comment on organization was really funny. It sounded just like me. The only help I can give you is to set a timer and try to stay in one spot at a time till its done. Or try 30 minutes on one thing with out getting lost in putting something else away.
