Good heavens NO! I have just been offline and dealing with SO many other issues! So sorry if I conveyed anything of the sort! Please, don't think that at all...I have JUST even typed a very lengthy dialogue, then accidentally TOUCHED something on my iPad or bluetooth keyboard, and everything disappeared! UGH, UGH, UGH! Story of my LIFE! SO frustrating! Just too weary to type it all again right now...perhaps a little later! Love that book, too! But, honestly, I DO FEEL CRAZY most of the time! LOL!

Thanks.  I'll see what I can do for a little bit Monday on the chat but will have to go out to do it.  ~ Marr  P.S. I'm not the other person you mentioned.

I could talk about this for a long while. I would say that over the years I have learned many skills and compensations for the ADHD. I would never say that it ruled my life. (It's really messed it up often, tho).

But, as I approach 63 years old, where my friends my age start joking about memory problems, and joke about "there's my ADD again", I get concerned about any worsening of my symptoms.

I've been working the 12 steps for recovery in several issues for a long time, and have lately been getting through the book "twelve steps for adults with ADD".

I think what I take away from my latest efforts to deal with this is that I really have to slow WAY down on (in particular) paperwork tasks, and TRIPLE check everything. I never used to have the patience to do that. Also, I inform people in the office that I'm a Recovering Multi Tasker, and that they should not interupt at certain times unless it's REALLY truly important, and no, I won't take on their crises and dramas.

What is thrilling about this current staff is that they get it (I don't tell them I have ADHD).

So, managing the stress, avoiding time and energy wasters, setting up paperwork tasks so that I function well (Brazilian music in the background works best!)..........I'm seeing progress.

Well, that brings us around to: ADHD doesn't get better with time, and gets worse with aging.

Hey, are we writing a book on this? Might be useful to us and the world!

Well,

here's some graffitti for your wall.

Re: aging and ADHD, my experience is that stress hits me harder as I age, that my ADHD symptoms get FAR WORSE than when I was younger. I have opted to go to part time in the stressful work (social services) and keep a small business for the other income. I see improvement as I stabilize. I make a lot fewer space pilot mistakes!
