Patty Deatsch Living with ADHD

Hi, i'm new to this group and i'm glad i found it because there are no groups around i can actually go to. Most people that don't have ADHD can't relate to us and I get so frustrated but don't want to blame the struggles i have in daily living on ADHD. My brain just works different then most people's so i just do the best i can. It will be nice to chat with other women that have the same problems as I do. Continue

I seem to be frowning a bunch for no reason at all. Also dry mouth and sleepy. Going to talk to the Dr. about getting off ASAP...depresson=not cool at all! Continue

Mimi Revelations & Discoveries

Well since finding out that I had ADD , I've been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Between beating myself up , wishing i'd found out a LONG time ago, and deciding what all this means to me and my marriage; it's been interesting to say the least. I know my husband loves me but we've both have been under a lot of pressure because we want to start a family , which means at least some of this ADD stuff needs to be under control. I 've gone back and forth about trying medications. My first in… Continue

Mimi Hello Women With ADD

I'm a 32 year old married women with no children but plans to have some in the near future. I was recently, diagnosed with ADD but, of course I've always had this nagging feeling that something was off. Now that I've been diagnosed and accepted the idea a bit more , I'm unsure on where to go next. I've seen about 2 therapists since college, not including our marital counselor , and I'm in the process of finding one that help me specifically with ADD. I'm not sure about anyone else out there but… Continue

Tukey how does Strattera compare to a stimulant?

Hi Everybody I am writing this to introduce myself and open a discussion about my experience with ADHD and Strattera which can hopefully lead me to suggestions of what my next steps should be in taking care of me and my ADHD . I have been on Strattera for a month and a half. I finally decided to get officially diagnosed and treated for ADHD at the ripe old age of 54 because the combination of menopause and life long untreated ADHD sent my condition into overdrive at a time in my life of major… Continue

Darlene Hurt my shoulder

Well here it is Friday and I was supose to be in Ft.Worth. Unfortunely last night I decided to start a fire and as I was walking uop to the fireplace. I missed the three inch step and I fell on my shoulder and alas I cannot move it without unbearable pain. After research I believe I have damaged the rotery cuff. Not much to do, heat, cold, therapy, the last is out due to loss of insurance along with the job. I need to use this time to sit still and work on my online resumes. Continue

Manda Six Months Later...

The six month anniversary of my grandmother's passing is fast approaching. These past six months have been hard on my family and me, and on me especially. But I got the greatest compliment this Christmas from my uncle. The same uncle who blasted me six months ago told me he was impressed. Over the past few months, he told me, he saw a huge change in me, how I acted and how I treated certain things. He was proud of me, especially for proving him wrong. I think this whole experience has changed m… Continue

Christine Does anyone have CFS or Fibromyalgia or TMJ/myofacial pain?

Hi all! I am recently diagnosed at 43 and have been on a learning journey about ADHD. There is so much more to the disorder than I could have ever imagined. Put aside all the things I thought were "just me", such as extreme overwhelm, stuck in neutural and easily frustrated. I just can't sit and play with my kids for more that 3 minutes. It's really painful! However, after being put on Vyvanse, I am seeing many other physical changes, as well. I was being treated for severe myofacial tightness t… Continue

Darlene My first post---my first post----NEW REVELATION?????

Well goodmorning.......I have never blogged before and never really knew the purpose of blgging was. I have decided that that I would make use of it anyway and pin my own purpose for it. The purpose being I can communite with people (or pretend) without having to endure watching them pretend to be interested in what I'm talking about or even knowing what I'm talking about. And more than anything I don't have to explain what I mean or apolize because it was taken the wrong way. I am very blunt an… Continue

I like everyone there and feel like I finally found something I can stick out. I can honestly say until Tue. I had no idea how bad my A.D.D can be.… Continue

jane Introducing myself

hi my name is Jane and I'm 19 years old .I'm studying Computer Systems Engineering in college and I'm doing quite well, even though I don't study a lot but lately my mom has been telling me I have add, she's a doctor and says diagnose is merely clinical so I don't need someone else to make the diagnosis, cause she's already done it by observing my behavior. My brother was diagnosed when he was 5, and she says I developed it during adolescence, but I don't really know if it's true so I would real… Continue
